Howdy folks! Happy Monday! This weekend was a sucker punch of snow for us.
We started with a little sleet on Friday night because, hey, sleet’s fun, right? I’m just glad it waited until I got home from work to really start. I don’t know about you but just because I CAN drive in sleet and snow doesn’t mean I WANT to. It’s definitely not my favorite.
And then, when I woke up on Saturday morning….
…and it didn’t stop snowing until late Saturday afternoon!
We got somewhere between 8-12 inches and, because the wind was blowing, some drifts are pretty high.
And the fact that it snowed all Saturday, and was BRUTALLY cold, meant that I was stuck inside.
I tried to read but … I couldn’t focus. So, I took pictures. 🙂
The snow storm definitely did NOT stop the birds from swinging by for a snack.
And I made some pecan butter. 🙂
Sunday was ALL about the shoveling.
The upside of being set back from the road is you don’t really hear the noise from the cars driving by. The downside of being set back from the road is that the driveway is 5,627 miles long. YIKES! I spent 3 hours outside shoveling the driveway, clearing off my truck, and shoveling a path to both the front door and the back door. If you saw my Instagram story, you know how much work I did. I’m not sure I’ll be able to lift my arms over my head for a week.
The rest of the day was definitely much more relaxed – laundry, playoffs, and a little nap or two in my chair. 😉 Hey, I was tired!
The ridiculous thing is it’s supposed to be back up to the 60s by Friday. Go home, Mother Nature, you’re drunk. haha.
OH!! I also made a recipe that I’ll be sharing with you on Tuesday – YAY! – and I wrapped up some loose ends for school so hopefully I can start online classes next month! Whoop!
Anyhoooo, that’s about it from this Winter Wonderland. I hope you had a fantastic weekend and that your week is off to a great start!
