Omigosh, I am such a nerd. I am so in love with the alliteration of this post’s title. Especially when you consider that I’m about to share five things with you. Five Friday Favorites #5. *swoon*
Okay, sorry. Sometimes I just can’t help myself. #grammarnerd Where was I? Oh yeah, some of my favorites from this week!
I think it goes without saying that my most favorite thing from this week is that I feel WAAAAAYYYYY better than I did last week. Thank goodness! I’ve even managed a few workouts and got outside for a walk! AND the sun was shining. WINNING! Although, apparently that was not a good thing yesterday because Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and we’re in for 6 more weeks of winter. Hooray. I’ll try to contain my enthusiasm.
But seriously, my favorite things…..raindrops on roses, whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles, and warm woolen mittens…. okay, fine. I’ll stop. 😉
1. Burt’s Bees
Man, I love this stuff! This has to be my favorite lip balm. It goes on smooth, it has a little tingly feel to it, and it works so well. It was literally my lifesaver last week when I was a mouth breather and my lips were so dry! If I hadn’t had some, I think my lips might have actually cracked and split open like a head of lettuce on the receiving end of a bayonet.
2. Chow Chow Relish
I had zero clue what this stuff was when I bought it but the ingredients had me hooked. Vidalia onions, jalapeno peppers, vinegar, spices, and not a lick of sugar. And, let me tell you, it tastes UH-MAY-ZING on eggs. And all sorts of other things. Like sausage. And tacos. And a spoon. It’s like a thick and chunky salsa. And the best thing about it? It’s local! #buylocal I don’t know if they ship but they have a Facebook page so you can definitely check them out. 🙂
3. Bee Pollen
You guys, I found this stuff at War-Mart! I decided to buy it because it was in a small package so I wouldn’t feel too bad if I didn’t like it. But, I DO like it!! And apparently, it’s super healthy! You can read about some of the health benefits here. I just know it’s pretty tasty. It adds sweetness without the sugary-ness of it all and it also adds some crunch. I add it to oatmeal, smoothies, and even a crazy dish made with mashed banana and eggs. SO GOOD!
4. Vanilla Bean Powder
This stuff was definitely another staple while on I was doing Whole
30 two weeks. It’s more concentrated than vanilla extract because it doesn’t have the alcohol that evaporates and it really punches up the flavor in baked goods and smoothies. And coconut milk vanilla lattes. #coffeeislife I found it on Amazon, but you can buy directly from Terrasoul, if you’re interested. (I don’t care where you buy it from. I’m not promoting the product for anybody. I just think it’s pretty darned good and wanted to share!) Just be warned. It’s not the cheapest stuff on the planet considering the size of the package.
5. Betsy’s Best Cashew Butter
You guys. This stuff is BANGIN! I found it at Kroger and I don’t think it’s going to last very long in my house. It’s sweet, it’s salty, it’s made with CASHEWS so it’s creamy and I think I need to go eat a spoonful right now. BRB.
So there you have it. Some of my favorites from this week – guaranteed to still be favorites next week…. 😉 Happy Friday, my friends! I hope you have a fun-filled weekend. I’ve got some laundry to do (woo!) and a Super Bowl party to go to on Sunday. Should be a good time! It's Friday!!
