THE WEEKEND IN PICTURES

Hello friends! Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Did you guys watch the Super Bowl? Was that a crazy game or what?! What about the Puppy Bowl? You know, this was the 13th year of the Puppy Bowl and apparently the first year I pulled my head out of that hole in the ground and actually watched it. I had NO clue that all the pups were shelter dogs and that it was basically an adoption event. Where have I been?! Anyway, I finally watched it this year and now I want to live on a farm so I can adopt ALL the puppies.

This is Eliza. We named her after Eliza Do0little from My Fair Lady (or Pygmalion, depending on if you read the screen play or saw the movie with Audrey Hepburn). Anyway, she’s usually a hot mess but she’s super sweet and cleans up pretty nicely when she gets groomed (yes, she’s too lazy to even groom herself). The thing about Eliza is that she’s not like a normal cat. She’s a complete and total loner. Lap cat? Not on your life. She doesn’t do people and attention.  She doesn’t chase toys or flies or anything like that. She also doesn’t roam the house. She finds a spot and pretty much stays there unless it’s meal time or she has to use the litter box. I’m pretty sure she hasn’t been in the dining room in at least a year, if not more. Of course I had to take a picture.

Sunday was our anniversary. 21 years! My mom sent us these really cool wine glasses to celebrate. The grooves in the sides make the glass easy to hold but also serve to help aerate the wine when you’re pouring it in. Very handy if you don’t want to pour a whole bottle of wine into the decanter!

Went to a Super Bowl party and ate ALL the chip, dip, cheese, and crackers. And chili. I made the chili. 🙂

And, that’s about it! Ta-DAH! (should I drop the mic like Lady Gaga did? Can we talk about that half-time show? I don’t know how you feel about Gaga but 1. that girl can SANG, and 2. I think she pretty much slayed that performance. that is all.)

QUESTIONS:

  • How was your weekend?
  • What was on your menu for the game?

Looks like a yummy spread. Apparently I’m also living under the same rock…I didnt know that the puppy bowl was an adoption event! Guess I need to tune in next year!

It was seriously the cutest thing! And, much like the regular Super Bowl, they do a “pre-game show” where they talk about the previous puppies and where they are now, etc. That’s what actually caught my attention. And now I must have ALL. THE. PUPPIES. lol

Although we actually watched a bit of the game (or I watched just a bit), I was in bed before halftime — which is too bad, I love Gaga. But heck, I get to see the exciting bits on tv today anyway.

Gizmo is pretty much a one woman cat — he tolerates some petting from my husband on occasion, will even deign to lay on him if I’m gone long enough — but me? The cat stalks me until he can lay on me! It can get kind of annoying, I already give him lap time in the morning and at night, and sometimes midday too.

    He’s lucky I don’t work . . .

I have one of those stalkers, too! Molly will follow me around and wait for me to sit down so she can hop right up. She’ll even meow at me sometimes if she thinks I’m taking too long to finish whatever I’m doing. Haha! Then, I have another one (Ginny) who likes to sleep on my neck and chest. I usually wake up with a paw in my mouth. tasty. Ha! Cats are so much fun. 🙂
