Happy Friday, everyone! Look at me with 3 posts this week! What what???
Man, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve shared some of my favorites from the week. This whole work, school, and knee surgery trifecta has really been kicking my butt! AND, my physical therapy regimen will take a new turn next week once I hit weight-bearing status. WOOO! Luckily, life is finally starting to settle down and I’m able to create more of a routine and get into the swing of things.
Like sharing my favorites from this week!
1. LOVE BEETS
You guys, I randomly saw these at the Kroger and I had to try them. Let me tell you, they. are. awesome. My favorite was the honey & ginger! So easy – all you have to do is open the package and stick your fork in there! Beets are chock full of nutrients like B vitamins, magnesium, and potassium so you should definitely be adding them into your diet, if you don’t enjoy them already! I know immabe grabbing more the next time I’m at the Kroger. NOM!
2. UDI’S GLUTEN FREE PIZZA
So, since I discovered that gluten kinda makes me feel exhausted, makes my tummy hurt and forces me to spend a little more time in the bathroom than I’d prefer, I’ve been sticking with gluten free as much as possible. (Not gonna lie – sometimes a donut is worth it.) Which means no more take-out pizza from our favorite local pizza joint. 🙁 Unless I’m prepared for the ensuing badness. Usually, I’ll pass on that though. And man, I just don’t have the time right now to be standing on my
feet foot making my own crust when a pizza craving hits. So….Udi’s to the rescue! And this stuff is REALLY GOOD! Sometimes I’ll cook it as it is but sometimes, I like to pretend that I’m fancy and I’ll doctor it up with the addition of more cheese and some veggies. YUM!
I’ll be honest. I’ve tried LOTS of different chocolate bars. And I like quite a few of them (and some, not so much. that’s SO disappointing when that happens). This was the first time I’ve grabbed the Chocolove bar. What drew me in was the crystallized ginger. I’ve never seen that in a chocolate bar!! And I do love me some ginger! (I’m that girl who eats all the ginger that comes in those sushi containers and then wants more.)
And this chocolate did not disappoint. The dark chocolate was just dark enough and the ginger wasn’t overwhelming, not that I would have minded at all. I think I found a new favorite! Oh, and something else that’s really cool? There’s a love poem inside each wrapper. Boom.
4. INTUITIVE EATING
It’s not like I don’t have enough to read already what with school work and studying for my NASM CPT, but I just had to grab this book. I’ve mentioned before that I have some disordered eating tendencies and I still sort of do, even though I’m much better than I used to be. I figured it was time I learned how to listen to my body and respond to what it wants. Also, I know that I’ve made some mistakes as a mom with regards to relationships with food – we ALL do, we can’t help it, we fall back on the way we were raised and what we THINK we should be saying – and I don’t want to do the same things with my grandchildren. I also want to have open conversations with my girls about food and passing the right messages along to the babies. Knowledge is power, right? 🙂 I’ve still in the process of reading it but I’ve already learned so much, especially about myself.
5. PAPER AND PACKAGING COMMERCIAL
I mean, what can I say? ALL the feels. <3 <3
