Hey there!  This week, I’m trying to focus on the things that make me happy.  And Friday seems like a good day to do that. 🙂  I’ve had an up and down week emotionally.  I’m not really as weepy as I was, which is definitely good, but I’m tired.  Drained would be a better word.  And I’m not sleeping well at all.  I’ve been pretty much waking up every 90 minutes to 2 hours or so and that just makes for a long damn night. So, again, HAPPY things. 🙂 And these things made me smile this week.

1. New Ink!!

Things that made me happy this week

I’ve been wanting to fill that spot for a while and it happened this week!  Peonies are symbols of beauty and fragility and the transitory nature of existence.  They also are symbols of wealth and prosperity so I’ve got my fingers crossed with regards to that – haha! – but I really felt like I needed them where I could see them.  Peonies are beautiful perennial flowers, full of color, and actually do pretty well each year in a flower bed if they are planted properly and have a change to establish themselves.  Apparently though, they don’t do so well when transplanting, which could be a nice metaphor for military life – or my WHOLE life.  I wouldn’t trade it for the world but I think I’ve just finally had enough of being “transplanted” and I need to establish myself and I think that’s why I was so set to stay, instead of heading to CA with my sailor.  I kept the flowers black and grey because they have been transplanted (many, many, many times) and may have lost their color but they’re still beautiful and hanging on.

2. Sweating with friends!

Haven’t had the chance to see these two, or sweat with them, in a while.  Felt good to be back with them. <3

3. SUSHI!!!

Things that made me happy this week

What? You don’t get excited about sushi? It’s the little things – and one of the few reasons I grocery shop at the Kroger. lol  Plus, the sushi guy is really sweet and I usually get a freshly made container. WINNING!

4. Fresh do!

Things that made me happy this week

Okay, I chopped all my hair off 6 weeks ago so the cut definitely isn’t new but it is definitely refreshed. And I love it – makes me feel good. 🙂 Plus, my stylist is the bomb dot com and I love her.  The wine was just a bonus. (Pay no attention to all the candy behind me. My candy-addicted child, aka Thing 1, and her candy addicted husband, aka my son-in-law, are living with me. There is candy. EV. ER. Y. WHERE.

5. Playtime with Macy

Things that made me happy this week

So, for the past few weeks, I’ve had an afternoon playdate with this cutie.  She’s my granddoggy. 🙂  Thing 2 and my FSIL (future son-in-law) work opposite schedules and she’s still a rambunctious pup and needs more exercise than they’re able to give her. So, enter Nana! We have a standing hour long play date where we walk (and she tries to learn how to behave on a leash and around other dogs/people) or play at the dog park, and then, we hang out in the apartment together for a bit cooling off and drinking water and eating snacks. It’s a pretty sweet time.  She’s only a slightly obnoxious date. 😉 And, she LOVES taking breaks on the grass.

So, tell me in the comments something or things that made YOU happy this week. <3

Love the gray top that you’re wearing 😉 and it goes well with your new hair do! I like it!

Thank you! I actually found that top at T.J. Maxx! It’s super comfortable and really light and easy to wear. 🙂

I always get excited about sushi. Always!

Your tatoo is beautiful! I am most definitely not an ink person, but I can admire it on others.

Sometimes people will compliment us on how well behaved Lola & Bandit are out & about. If they only knew . . . unless they’re walking a dog, too, and then they do know because yes, it’s an ongoing process with Bandit. It ain’t easy socializing a dog who had almost now walks for 8 years!

Sushi is the best! AND, I just learned that the hotel at BlogFest has a sushi restaurant in it!! I’M SO EXCITED!!! haha

And thank you! I think he did a really good job and captured exactly what I wanted. Once you get your first one, it’s pretty addicting. 🙂

Oh gosh, I can only imagine how hard that must be!! Mine are a little too old for walks now so they just play (as in roll around or, in Max’s case, just lay down) in the back yard. It’s nice to walk Macy but she’s got all that puppy energy. All she wants to do is play!

What makes me happy is seeing you happy! Have you tried some lavender when you go to bed at night? It is so relaxing…maybe some yoga? I love that you share your life on this blog. I’m always so excited to see what you will share when your newest post is in my inbox!

Thank you! I hope you’re doing well! Pups are getting big! haha! I haven’t tried lavender – at this point, I’m willing to try just about anything so is it the essential oil thing or what? Last night, I woke up at 11pm (went to bed at 9:30) and then was up for like an hour before I could fall back asleep. Then 2pm and then 4pm. UGH!
