First things first, I want to thank each and every one of you who commented on my past few blog posts or sent me a personal note or just reached out.  You have absolutely no idea how much all that has meant to me.  I’m in a spot that is hard for me to deal with and actually admit that I’m in it and knowing that I have the support of you guys, and that I’m not alone, is EXACTLY what I need. Thank you. I love you! <3

So anyhooo, I’m sitting here, basking in the glow that was my weekend, trying NOT to stress that I didn’t get all my assignments done a week early (so I have less worries while at BlogFest) while trying to give myself a break and forgiving myself for not getting it all done.

First of all, it was a lot. Like A LOT. This nutrition class is NO JOKE and I’m also taking statistics. Can you say STRESSED OUT?!

Anyway, I got to spend some good time with the grand babies this weekend.  They always ground me.  It’s so hard not to be happy when a 1 year old is willing to give hugs and kisses and crawls up into your lap for hugs and snuggles. *I melt*

I spent loads of time watching Sesame Street with this guy.

Weekend things (and packing for blogfest)

We love to sing Elmo’s Song, C is for Cookie (because, duh, cookies!!) and my personal favorite (seriously, I have ALWAYS loved this song) Rubber Ducky.

We may or may not also get down to Elmo’s Got the Moves. #dontjudgeme #dancingisgoodforthesoul

I also got to spend plenty of time with this cutie, sharing strawberries, touching plants, and chasing kitties.

She is the CUTEST!!  She’s finally getting that walking things down which means she is ALL over the place and into EVERYTHING!

And now, I’m totally packing for BlogFest! I cannot even express to you just how excited I am!! I mean, for one thing, my sailor is driving out to spend the time with me, the conference is in Vegas, and we’re going to be there for a whole week!!!

Wait. I know what you’re thinking. An entire WEEK in Vegas?!

Yes, we’re spending a week there.  There’s 4 days for the conference (okay, fine, technically 3 1/2) but again, he’s DRIVING out to meet me so we’ll have a car so we can get OUT of Vegas and go do things like see Hoover Dam, go to Ethel M’s chocolate factory, and go see this sculpture/art out in the desert.  There’s also talk about scoping out ALL the donut joints and just hanging out by the pool.

Weekend things (and packing for blogfest)

I’m pretty much packed – just have a few things left to get into my suitcase – and I am totally ready to go!!  I really need this break – this vacation – this time away from some of the stress.  And my sailor and I need this time away together – away from responsibilities (except for school. I can’t escape that! lol) where we can just BE.  I need it.  He needs it.  WE need it. And I CAN. NOT. WAIT.

There are a few things that I’m pretty excited about that are going in my bag.  One is an actual bag! haha!

Look at all those zippers!!!

This girl just does not have time to be carting around ALL the bags so this backpack (which is super fancy and vegan leather, BTW!) is perfect for carrying around my snacks, my water bottle (um, hello awesome pockets on the side!), my computer, a change of clothes, my phone, my wallet, etc. I’m calling it my Mary Poppins bag because it’s practically perfect in every way!

I’m also really excited about this HP Chromebook I got.

Weekend Things (and packing for blogfest)
pardon my mess……

First of all, the computer I use regularly is a Mac. And those b*tches are NOT light!!  So, because I knew I was going to need to be able to finish schoolwork, and I knew I might want to type my notes instead of write them at the different sessions, I needed something that wasn’t going to shred my shoulder carrying around. Ta-DAH!  It’s so awesome and, because I’m a complete and total nerd, I know that it meets Consumer Reports *recommended buy* status. *insert thumbs up emoji here* *drops mic*

Finally, although I normally sleep on airplanes, I bought myself something to read that isn’t school related.  I’ve seen some of the people I follow on Instagram talking about this book and, based on all the things right now, I’m pretty sure I need to read it.

Weekend things (and packing for blogfest)

I’ll let you know how it is!!

If you’re interested, I’ll be sharing about Vegas on my Instagram stories so feel free to follow along. I’ll try not to be too distracted by all the bling (and the most handsome face of my sailor whom I have not seen since MAY!) and forget to post. 🙂

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

  • What fun things did you do this weekend?
  • When’s the last time you read a non-fiction book? (What was it?! Was it good? Should I read it?)
  • Any Vegas recommendations off the Strip?

We actually do enjoy Vegas. I’m glad I didn’t sign up for BlogFest . . . we could’ve made it, as it turns out (and like I said, my husband enjoys Vegas) but I’m enjoying being home after all that travel. Have fun!

I like to eat in Vegas. And shop. 🙂 Course it’s also super hot this time of year!

Both Red Rocks Park & Valley of Fire are worth a visit. And then if you want a longer drive, there’s UT & all its gorgeousness not that far away — we considered flying into Vegas & driving to UT>

You definitely need to rest after travel! I’ve looked at red rocks park but not valley of fire. We’ll have to check that out! We’ve got a fancy dinner planned and we’re seeing blue Man group, too. I. Cannot. Wait!!!
