Ultimate Coffee Date – February edition

Oh man, can you believe it’s already February? I’m not one to want time to go slower – even though it inevitably does when you’re waiting for something or doing something that’s not fun, haha – but it really seems like it’s moving so much faster these days. Is that just me?

Anyhoo…it’s time to grab your cup of coffee, or tea if that’s your thing, and join me for the Ultimate Coffee Date (linking up with Deborah and Coco). I’ve got some things to share and it’s always fun to share with friends over a cup of coffee.

Ultimate Coffee Date - December

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my 22nd anniversary is on Monday, the 5th. And, it’s another one where I’m not spending it with my sailor. *sigh*  We’ve definitely spent a lot of anniversaries apart due to deployments, etc but that doesn’t mean they suck any less. He’ll hopefully be home for a visit next month so we’ll celebrate then. 🙂

I’d also tell you that the 1st (Thursday) was my parents’ anniversary. 49 years! Add in the commercial holiday “Valentine’s Day” and there’s a lot of love in February for my family. haha

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m having way more lazy days than normal with regards to the dishes and the laundry. Normally, I like to make sure the dishes are done and the sink is cleaned before I go to bed that way I don’t have to look at it in the morning but lately…. yeah. I’ve been slacking and then I come downstairs in the morning to a sink full of dishes. Ugh. How exactly can one person dirty so many dishes? Oh wait, maybe I should actually empty the dishwasher when it’s done. *side eye at myself*

It’s the same with the laundry. I wash my clothes – no problems there – it’s the taking them out of the dryer and putting them away part that I’m struggling with. I’ve just been grabbing what I want when I come down in the morning to let my dog out. I should be ashamed of myself. haha

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that from out of nowhere, my sweet tooth has developed a mind of its own and I’ve been downing chocolate like it’s my job. And I should definitely not be buying any pints of Halo Top because … serving size? what serving size? Pass the spoon! I don’t know what the heck is going on – I’m not usually like that – but, I’ve got to get this under control. lol

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m credentialed! I passed my NASM-CPT test and I’m super excited about it! Now, I just have to figure out how I’m going to get started.

And, since we’re having coffee, I should also tell you that I failed the test the first time I took it. I missed passing by one question. UGH. To be fair, that was back in August and I was smack in the middle of major anxiety and depression issues. Combine that with having to say goodbye to my 13 year old Lab and test taking was probably not a good idea. The positive in all that – because you’ve got to find the positive! – is that I got extra time to study and learn/know my stuff. 🙂

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m thinking about growing my hair out again.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Growing my hair out is so frustrating but lately, I haven’t been liking my short do. I don’t know. If you were Thing 2, you would just shake your head at me and say “don’t do it.” She knows I’ll probably just chop it all off again. lol  #firstworldproblems

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I can only drink so much coffee before my stomach starts to hurt and I bounce off the walls. haha  And, I’ve finished my cup so now it’s your turn.

What would you tell me if we were having coffee?

Give me all the ice-cream. Sometimes it’s best to work through these phases and give in to the cravings 🙂

I’m definitely trying to be kind to myself. Thankfully, it seems to have settled down. *Fingers crossed* haha

I’m totally on the taking the clothes out of the dryer and putting them away struggle bus! My recliner is currently housing all my clean laundry because I need to hang it up and take it upstairs, it’s been there for a week…

Congrats on the certification! I have strongly been considering getting my PT certification but there is a part of me that is gun shy. Right after my TBI I tried getting certified in my real job but failed the test twice by just a few questions. I should have never thought I could pass the test but I had to take it because my window was going to close. I think this would be totally different but I am still not sure!

I was inspired by you and I put away all my clothes. Of course, I’m doing more laundry now so we’ll see how that goes …. Haha!

The first time I took the test, I failed it. Honestly, I don’t test very well – I get nervous and I tend to second guess myself all the time. I have learned some breathing techniques (mostly remembering to actually do it!) that help me stay calm and confidence is key. After the 2nd question on this go around, I thought “oh Lord, I don’t know the answer to this, I’m not going to pass.” But, then I remembered that I had been studying hard and I told myself that I was going to pass and I took a deep breathe and just took my time. I went back over all the questions twice before I hit submit. You can totally do it!! You just have to believe in yourself! <3

Ah yes, the taking the clothes out of the dryer part…I admit, I can be slow doing that at times myself. But, I try to behave and keep up on it.
Oh my goodness, I LOVE Halo Top! Now that they have vegan ones, I’m always thinking about the fact that I “need” one. LOL!
Happy Anniversary, hope you get to celebrate it with something awesome!

I’m especially bad about the clothes in the dryer during the winter. I think it’s because I just want an existing to tumble it and put on warm clothes. Haha!
And thanks, Shannon! I’ll celebrate with a good run and hopefully a phone call with my husband. <3

I’m with you on the dishes and laundry. It seems like I had things more together when the kids were little… now it’s mostly just the hubs and I yet I can’t seem to get it done. And yes, I don’t mind doing the laundry, I just hate putting it away.

Happy Anniversary to both you and your parents!! Sorry your hubby is away …I’ve been in that boat too and will be again soon as my hubby will be deploying next month and will miss our anniversary as well.

Congratulations on your NASM certification …that is a really tough one to pass from what I’ve heard!

Thank you! I’m sorry your hubby is deploying and you won’t be together on your anniversary. Military life can definitely be a struggle sometimes. <3

And exactly!! Maybe we had it together more back then because if we didn't, it would take over everything! Lol. There's a big difference between dishes and laundry for 2 compared to 4 or more. Yikes! Haha

Love your coffee mug! I’m terrible about leaving dishes in the sink, but that’s nothing new. lol Congrats on 22 years. Hope your sailor comes home soon for you to celebrate. Congrats on passing your certification, too. That’s amazing and impressive. 🙂 Happy February!

Thanks! Eventually, he’ll retire and then I’ll be stuck with him all the time. Lol

Congrats on passing your NASM exam! I’ve heard it’s very hard. I go through lazy phases and then it seems like things hit critical mass and I get back on track again. Sometimes it feels good to just let it all go.

  9. Coco | 3rd Feb 18

The problem with both dishes and laundry is that they are never done — there’s always something! Congrats on the certification!!

If we were sharing a hot beverage, I would commiserate with you on the hair thing, except my version is with my bangs. I like them long, so they blend in, but then they also tend to stick out on some days because they are NOT the same length as the rest of my hair. And when they are blatantly shorter (you know, actual BANGS), they drive me crazy when I’m trying to finagle them under hats/visors for running. Yes, real probs LOL

      Jennifer | 3rd Feb 18

Ugh, don’t even get me started on bangs! Lol. I can’t have those. Too much itchy on my forehead! And yes, they’re so hard to sweep under hats and visors!

I’ve been super super lazy with household chores lately too! :[ I plan to do an epic cleanse once my work weeks get a little more manageable in terms of time!

Congrats on being credentialed!! 😀 That’s so awesome!

      Thanks, Farrah!

And….I have a sink full of dishes right this very moment. *Sigh*
